Once upon a time...
For those of you that haven't heard the story, this engagement had been months in the making. From planning the ring, to getting the families to California, all the way down to the minutes before Ryan popped the question. And ya'll... I have photographed many events, and not to be biased, but this couldn't have gone any smoother.
Basically, Ryan wanted to get both our families to Disneyland for a "vacation" after Madeline had graduated but she had no idea what was actually going to happen. Her mom and I were texting most of the evening before to make sure the plan was solid as she had no clue that her parents were in California, let alone Disneyland.
The day was finally here and normally my family would be all over the early magic hour and getting to the rides first but because Ryan wanted to pop the question first thing in the morning, also before the torrential downpour started, we kind of wandered over to where World of Color usually takes place to "get photos while we looked cute." I was texting her parents to let them know we were in the park and to be ready. I was to set Ryan & Madeline up like we were taking photos and as soon as their backs were to me, Madeline's parents came rushing down from their hiding spot behind a food truck to get ready for the surprise. I got my camera set up and said our planned words, "ok i think i got the shot," and Ryan & Madeline turned around, saw her parents, Ryan got down on one knee, and here came the tears and joy.
