How did we end up in New York you might ask? 

Last year, 54 Below announced that Jeremy Jordan would be performing a solo show in July 2019. The tickets went on sale and instead of buying them right then, I waited too long to decide if I could go and they ended up selling out. I was sooooo upset and mad at myself for not buying the tickets. BUT! As luck would have it, they ended up having to move the show due to him getting the lead role in Waitress on Broadway. The newly announced dates were Thanksgiving weekend. Looking at flights and hotels, there was no way that I would be able to afford to go. As a couple weeks went by, I received ANOTHER email saying they were going to be postponing the show yet again because of the shooting schedule for Supergirl. With the new dates being listed, people were having to cancel and tickets became available. And as soon as they went on sale, I told my mom that my butt was going to be there whether someone goes with me or I go alone. I bought the tickets that day, AND SO PLANNING BEGAN. For those of you that don't know, Jeremy Jordan is my favorite singer. I've been following his career for years and I missed the first solo show, so I've always said that if he does another one, I would be there. 

We started looking at shows and decided on Frozen and Dear Evan Hansen. The opening number of Frozen, I was already in tears. Everything about Disney music gives me all the feels and by the time we made it to intermission, I was just bawling. IT WAS SOOOOOO AMAZING. If you haven't seen the preview, I highly recommend looking up Let it Go on Youtube and enjoy. The dress I decided to wear that night could work as an Elsa Disneybound outfit and the amount of young girls dressed as Elsa kept looking at me as I walked by with eyes so big. It was the sweetest thing. 

The next night we headed to see Jeremy Jordan at 54 Below. I've seen every video of him singing on Youtube. I've watched all the interviews, all the shows and movies he's been in, but when I say there's nothing like seeing him sing live, it was an experience I will never forget. The show was all about him telling his daughter about memories and what he went through in his lifetime. From a divorce at an early age to losing his step mom in a wreck and an abusive step dad. All while incorporating the music from his shows to tell the stories. I had chills and tears the entire show. And to end the night with a bang, we did the studio door and get to meet him. I was able to give him a hug and chat with him about being a huge fan. I might've blacked out some while talking to him, but to say I was able to even just tell him thank you was enough. 

The last night we were there, Dear Evan Hanson was on the agenda. Now this is another show that you should take the time to listen too if you haven't already. It was announced several weeks before we were going that Jordan Fisher would take the lead role a week before we were going to see it. He has the voice of a god. And to top off the week, another show full of tears. It's an insightful show about mental health and how no matter what happens YOU should not disappear. When the lights came up on intermission, EVERYONE was crying. And I mean everyone. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. 

It was such an incredible trip that will stay with me for years to come.
